Job description

  • Set up and configure new IT equipment, including laptops, printers, phones, and other devices.
  • Install and update software applications.
  • Monitor and maintain the performance and security of IT systems and networks.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of devices and equipment.
  • Manage a proactive hardware servicing scheme to prevent issues before they occur.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues, including connectivity, password, software, and hardware problems.
  • Provide remote support to staff members.
  • Document and report IT incidents, problems, and solutions, escalating complex issues to external providers when necessary.
  • Deliver in-house IT training to staff.
  • Implement and uphold security policies and best practices.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of Standard Operating Procedures and "How-to" guides for all IT processes, ensuring smooth collaboration with external Managed Service Providers and Synergy Farm Health colleagues.
  • Provide on-site support for our cloud-based telecoms system.
  • Stay up to date with the latest IT trends and technologies.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, * A proven track record as an IT support technician or in a similar position.

  • Competence with IT hardware and software systems, including Windows, Microsoft 365, antivirus software, VPNs, and related technologies.
  • Experience with IT support tools and methods, such as remote access and ticketing systems.
  • Outstanding troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, paired with strong communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to hardware and software maintenance.
  • Capability to operate both independently and within a team setting.
  • Skill in managing job lists and working with the IT Director to prioritise tasks.
  • A degree or diploma in IT, computer science, or a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in managing cloud-based telecoms systems.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in administering and maintaining Microsoft 365 applications and services is advantageous (including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Power Platform, PowerBI, and others)., * IT Support: 3 years (preferred)

Synergy Farm Health is seeking a Senior IT Support Technician to join our team, delivering dependable and effective IT support across our organisation, both in person and remotely. As the largest independent provider of farm-only veterinary services in the UK, Synergy Farm Health employs 150 staff members who supply veterinary and technical services to a substantial client base of farmers. Our workforce includes both office-based and remote employees. The successful candidate will be tasked with installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting IT hardware and software systems. In addition, you will be expected to provide technical support and guidance to our staff.
