Job description
We are seeking an experienced and delivery-focused Project Manager to support, a nationally critical Home Office programme.
This role requires a strong, resilient individual capable of managing projects from inception through to closure, ensuring delivery to time, cost, quality, and security standards. You will oversee planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and operational deployment within a secure and highly regulated environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring credibility, structure, and the ability to drive progress in complex delivery settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full project life cycle delivery from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure
- Define project scope, objectives, governance structures, and delivery plans
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, security, HSE, and operational stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Home Office governance, security standards, and change control processes
- Manage supplier and stakeholder relationships across multiple delivery streams
- Produce clear reporting, RAID logs, status updates, and programme documentation
- Ensure effective handover to operational support at project close
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering complex IT projects end-to-end
- Experience operating within Government, Home Office, Defence, or other regulated environments
- Strong understanding of governance, risk management, and structured delivery frameworks
- Demonstrable experience managing multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to operate under pressure and drive delivery in challenging environments
- Strong financial and commercial awareness
- Experience with structured methodologies (PRINCE2, MSP, Agile, or equivalent)
Desirable
- Experience delivering secure infrastructure or national-scale deployment programmes
- Familiarity with ITIL or service transition processes
- Relevant project management certifications (PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP, APM, PMP)
