Job description

  • Accountable for the full lifecycle of end-user computing, from foundational support through to technical design, ensuring a secure, reliable and optimal user experience across AELTC services. This includes responsibility for:
  • End-to-end administration of the Microsoft 365 application stack, including Endpoint Manager (Intune), Outlook, OneDrive, Teams and SharePoint
  • Management and support of end-user hardware platforms, including desktops, laptops, iPads, iPhones, printers and scanners
  • Enablement and support of home and remote working environments, including secure access via Cisco VPN
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and improve the standard operating environment, taking accountability for the design, planning, and delivery of end-user computing projects from inception to completion.
  • Provide high-quality, reliable technical support for Club and AELTC events, including delivery outside standard business hours whenever required.
  • Administration of user accounts via Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • Build packaged applications for deployment using Microsoft InTune and Patch My PC.
  • Design, own and maintain technical runbooks and acceptance criteria for existing and new technologies, ensuring they are accurate, operationally effective and aligned with AELTC standards.
  • Recommend and procure the right software licences for the computing estate, to ensure compliance, cost control and only buying what the AELTC needs.
  • Drive the development of AI Copilot initiatives to support colleagues in getting value from the technology, delivering measurable benefit to the organisation.
  • Work in partnership with the information security team to implement initiatives for any 'cyber first' response threats which can be used by the Service Desk, ensuring consistent, quick, and secure handling of potential threats.
  • Design and build Intune and Group Policies across the AELTC computing platform, ensuring all processes and procedures are maintained and updated as requirements change.
  • Support the Compliance team in compliance matters, including but not limited to;
  • Joiner and leaver account management
  • GDPR investigations
  • Quarterly internal auditing
  • Broader security initiatives
  • Develop and support collaborative working platforms, to ensure we remain current with emerging collaboration technologies and innovations.
  • Use the Freshworks ITSM suite daily to log, update and resolve user incidents to maintain effective communication and a positive support experience.

What part your role will play in The Championships

  • Plan the installation and decommission of computer services to existing and new Championships locations. This will require you to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the AELTC, including those in Technology, the Championships planning team and a variety of 3rd parties.
  • Develop subject matter expertise on a variety of Championships specific services, recognising their annual evolution, so you can provide knowledgeable guidance and support operational readiness.
  • Provide Service Desk support for the wider community when not otherwise engaged in specific predefined tasks.
  • Document all new processes and take responsibility for creating clear, accurate knowledge-base articles for each product and service you manage.
  • Build a daily check list of services to check by 0800hrs each day of The Championships to ensure each assigned business area is in a state of readiness for each day.
  • Review post-Championships feedback of the computer platform and work with the Senior Technology Services Manager and Service Desk Team Leader to identify implement improvements that enhance performance
  • Build and maintain strong, trusting, relationships with all Technology department peers and third parties to provide incident support and assessment through to resolution.

  • The Technology Department's role is to provide and support IT systems and infrastructure both year-round and during The Championships. Our Championships systems include ticketing, public safety, tournament management and scoring & statistics. Our fodd & drink, retail and marketing systems continue throughout the year, together with systems to support the Wimbledon Museum & Tour, our Community Sports facilities in Raynes Park & Roehampton, and the management of the Members' club.

Requirements

  • You will have contemporary and practical experience in providing technical design and support for:
  • The full suite of Microsoft systems including Windows, Office, PowerShell, Group Policy Editor, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Defender, OneNote, Forms, Power Tools and EndPoint InTune
  • BYOD concepts and designs
  • Application packaging concepts and designs
  • Microsoft Copilot or other AI platforms
  • Endpoint protection tools (EDR, anti-malware and device compliance)
  • Identity and access management (user provisioning, MFA, least privilege)
  • Wired and wireless print management solutions
  • A detailed and demonstrable understanding of how Microsoft 365 licencing works, including the different licence options and what you get with them.
  • Practical experience supporting a variety of personal computing devices including:
  • Laptops and desktops from Lenovo and Apple,
  • Apple iPhones and iPads
  • Printers and scanners
  • Practical experience of monitoring security alerts and the triage of new threats.
  • A detailed and demonstrable working knowledge of networking protocols and routing.
  • Strong inter-personal skills, including the ability to listen, influence and communicate with various audiences providing an exemplary customer experience.
  • Excellent organisational skills with proven ability to work under pressure and to agreed service levels.
