Job description

We are seeking a motivated Day Electrical Technician to join a critical data centre facility in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of electrical systems, ensuring all assets are maintained to the highest standards. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, with potential to progress into HV Authorised Person responsibilities.

Duties

  • Carry out planned, reactive, and corrective maintenance across electrical systems
  • Operate and maintain electrical infrastructure, including isolations where required
  • Monitor site systems such as BMS and CMMS (e.g. Archibus)
  • Work closely with shift teams and subcontractors to ensure all works are completed in line with SOPs, MOPs, and permit-to-work systems
  • Inspect and sign off subcontractor work, ensuring quality and compliance
  • Respond to client requests within agreed SLAs
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and completed work orders
  • Support shift teams with engineering cover when required
  • Participate in emergency drills and support incident response
  • Identify risks and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Ensure all work complies with health & safety and QHSE procedures
  • Maintain high standards across plant rooms and electrical infrastructure

Requirements

  • Experience in electrical maintenance and repairs (data centre or critical environment desirable)
  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical discipline (or equivalent)
  • Electrical Authorised Person (HV/LV) desirable
  • Good understanding of electrical systems and building infrastructure
  • Strong IT and report writing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently
  • Willingness to undertake further training and development
