Job description

A prominent secondary academy in Manchester is seeking a strategic and analytical Data Manager for a full-time, permanent role starting ASAP. This position is central to the school's academic reporting and long-term strategic planning, requiring a specialist who can transform complex datasets into actionable insights for the Senior Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the management and development of the school's MIS (e.g., SIMS, Bromcom, or Arbor).
  • Coordinate all statutory data returns and ensure total accuracy in student census reporting.
  • Produce high-level analytical reports on student progress, attendance, and behavior.
  • Manage the school's timetable construction in collaboration with the Vice Principal.
  • Ensure the school is fully compliant with GDPR and data protection legislation.

Requirements

  • Significant experience managing data within an educational or complex public sector setting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • A meticulous approach to detail and a commitment to data integrity.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
