Job description

- Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D engineering drawings.
- Perform design analysis, material selection, and optimization for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure successful product realization.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive product documentation, including BOMs and specifications.
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities to verify design performance.

We partner with companies in Lansing seeking skilled Design Engineers., * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) and PDM systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication) and their impact on design.
- Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Strong knowledge of material properties, selection, and application in product design.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards., * Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, or assembly in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, CFD) for design validation and optimization.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
