Job description
Bay College, an equal opportunity employer, is seeking applicants for the Summer IT Assistant position. Student employees will support the Information Technology Department by assisting with technical requests and projects, troubleshooting basic technology issues, and helping with equipment setup and maintenance. Start dates and work schedules will be determined during the interview process., Works under the direction of the Coordinator of Campus User Technology & IT Helpdesk Coordinator., Job Duty
- Assist with the installation, setup, and troubleshooting of computer hardware and software across campus.
- Support the repair, configuration, and deployment of computer workstations.
- Respond to and assist with user helpdesk requests.
- Assist with network cabling and basic network troubleshooting.
- Support the maintenance of internet-based applications and services.
- Research and explore new internet applications as directed by the Coordinator of Campus User Technology or other ITS staff.
- Assist with support for ITV and classroom technology.
- Provide assistance with non-technical tasks as requested by the Coordinator of Campus User Technology or ITS staff.

Requirements
- Must be a currently enrolled Bay College student pursuing a degree or certificate.
- Must be enrolled in at least the Summer 2026 and/or Fall 2026 semester at the time of hire.
- Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and complete tasks accurately.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
- Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with students, faculty, and staff.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing Windows-based computers and software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
