Join a Leading Utility Organization on a Long-Term Contract! Are you ready to keep critical infrastructure running and make a real impact? We're seeking a Telecommunications Field Technician to support Columbia-area facilities. This is a hands-on role where you'll work with cutting-edge telecom systems and ensure reliable service for thousands of customers.
What You'll Do
- Install and wire routers/switches, coordinate configurations, and troubleshoot issues.
- Provision transport equipment and Ethernet services supporting MPLS networks.
- Perform testing, deployment, and documentation for system upgrades and maintenance.
- Respond to outages and provide storm/disaster support.
- Participate in maintenance window cutovers and system grooms.
- Collaborate with multiple teams to solve complex telecom challenges.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of fiber circuits, MPLS, and LAN/WAN data circuits.
- Skilled in fiber termination and troubleshooting various cabling types.
- Experience with DC plant systems, LAN/wireless testing, and fiber optic test equipment.
- Familiarity with cable identification, terminations, and Channel Banks.
Nice to Have: Electrical/Electronic experience, SCADA knowledge, and strong technical writing skills.
