Job description

Our client, a leading technology organization specializing in innovative data solutions, is seeking a Systems Development Engineer II to join their team. As a Systems Development Engineer II, you will be part of the Infrastructure Support Department supporting the Data Operations Team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization., + Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations via automation.

  • Design server monitoring and management solutions using automation and self-repair techniques.

  • Create processes that enhance operational workflow and provide positive customer impact.

  • Resolve complex problems at their root by analyzing failure patterns and implementing long-term solutions through automation and simplification.

What's Needed?

Requirements

  • Computer Science or equivalent technical degree with 2-5 years of experience in software development and support.

  • Experience in C++, Jira and data pipelines

  • Experience in QA/Quality Assurance, system monitoring and cross-team collaboration

  • In-depth knowledge of and experience deploying and operating Linux or other UNIX variants in a data center environment.

  • Proficiency in automation via Perl/Python programming and shell scripting.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of standard internet protocols (Ethernet, IP, TCP, UDP, DNS, HTTP, SSL, etc.).

  • Experience with system monitoring, security best practices, and building SQL queries.

  • Excellent project management skills and ability to collaborate across teams effectively.
