Job description
The Systems Designer will design and develop rail system layouts for automated industrial laundry systems, transforming conceptual sales layouts into detailed, production-ready designs. This role focuses on 2D AutoCAD system layout work, including belt, sorting system, platform, and rail system design, to create efficient, gravity-based material handling solutions. The position offers the opportunity to act as a technical lead, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and grow into broader career paths within a leading, growth-oriented organization., * Design and develop rail system layouts for automated industrial laundry systems using 2D AutoCAD.
- Convert sales layouts into optimized, detailed system designs that are ready for production and installation.
- Create, modify, and manage standardized and dynamic AutoCAD blocks for large, gravity-based system layouts.
- Focus on integrated system layouts, including belt design, sorting systems, platform design, and rail systems, rather than component-level mechanical design.
- Translate conceptual layouts into accurate, consistent, production- and installation-ready drawings.
- Optimize and refine high-level sales layouts to improve system performance, flow, and usability.
- Apply detailed design thinking to ensure layouts meet functional, spatial, and operational requirements.
- Coordinate as the technical lead with electrical and software teams to ensure system integration and design alignment.
- Use Excel and the MS Office suite to support design documentation, calculations, and communication.
- Maintain high standards of drafting accuracy, detail, and consistency across all drawings and project documentation.
- Support continuous improvement of layout standards, templates, and design practices for system design.

Requirements
- Strong proficiency in 2D AutoCAD, with hands-on experience creating, modifying, and managing standardized and dynamic blocks.
- Demonstrated ability to design and detail large, integrated system layouts rather than basic linework or small component design.
- Proven experience translating layouts into production- and installation-ready drawings with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong mechanical design and system layout skills focused on belt, sorting system, platform, and rail system design.
- High attention to detail and consistency in drafting and documentation.
- Ability to take high-level sales layouts and independently optimize, refine, and finalize designs.
- Comfort working as a technical lead, coordinating with electrical and software teams on integrated systems.
- Proficiency with Excel and the MS Office suite for documentation and communication.
- Strong design judgment and practical understanding of gravity-based and large-scale system layouts., * Background as a 2D AutoCAD-focused designer, CAD designer/drafter, or engineering technician is highly suitable.
- Civil engineering experience can be applicable where it aligns with long-term system layout work.
- No engineering degree is required; demonstrated AutoCAD depth and design judgment are more important than formal engineering credentials.
- Interest in a career path that may include transitioning into Sales based on strong optimization skills, communication, and customer interaction.
- Comfort working in an industry-leading, growth-oriented environment with opportunities for upward mobility.
- Ability to thrive in a detail-oriented role focused on system layout and optimization rather than traditional 3D mechanical engineering work.
