Job description
- Configure, image, and deploy desktops and laptops (both pre-configured and unprovisioned devices)
- Coordinate directly with end users before and after device delivery to ensure readiness
- Install and set up monitors, docking stations, printers, and other peripherals
- Reimage devices for performance issues or reassignment to new users
- Prepare and stage equipment in accordance with user roles and organizational standards
- Perform software installations and transfers
- Communicate with end users when manual intervention is required
- Support office relocations, including disconnection, transport, and reinstallation of IT equipment
- Reconfigure peripherals such as printers and phones to ensure seamless transitions
- Handle approximately 10-15 tickets per day
- Workload typically split between new equipment requests and break/fix troubleshooting
- Partner with warehouse/shop administration for equipment coordination
- Communicate regularly with Desktop Engineering and Service Desk teams
- Adjust priorities as workload shifts throughout the day
- Respond effectively to changing demands and urgent requests
Requirements
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Desktop Services PC Service Technician to join our team. This role combines hands-on technical support with physical workstation setup and relocation tasks. While prior experience working with computers is required, training will be provided. The ideal candidate is reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes physically demanding environment., * Prior experience with PC support (required)
- Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Intune, ServiceNow, Eracent, or Footprints (preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment and walk between locations regularly
Additional Notes:
- This role includes both technical and physical responsibilities (lifting, walking between buildings, equipment transport)
- Minimal asset management responsibilities
- Training will be provided, but candidates must have a solid baseline comfort with computers and software
