Job description

System Integration and Testing:

· Integrate LED lighting systems with mechanical fixtures, machine vision cameras and other related and software.

· Work with software developers to create algorithms and software for image processing and analysis.

· Work with electrical and mechanical developers to test and document new products and product changes.

· Test and document custom light fixtures and electronics per customer specifications.

Design & Prototyping:

· Create and test prototypes to validate new concepts and technologies: Assemble light fixtures, modify and replace components, and test features to solve machine vision challenges.

· Create software or programs the integrate with machine vision cameras and other hardware. Capture images, and record uniformity and intensity data.

Collaboration & Documentation:

· Collaborate with the engineering team, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and product managers, to ensure successful project outcomes.

· Document research findings, design specifications, and testing results.

· Create and maintain documentation for internal (mfg. and test) and external (customer application) LED lighting systems.

· Create documentation for quality control and manufacturing departments

· Organize and maintain engineering lab space(s).

· Organize and maintain component libraries and R&D inventory.

Research & Development:

· Conduct research on the latest advancements in LED lighting and machine vision technologies.

· Identify new materials or techniques that could be used to enhance new or existing products.

· Optimize lighting systems for various machine vision applications to ensure high performance and reliability.

Other / Travel

· Occasional travel for important customer site visits, approximately 1-3 days/per year

Requirements

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Optoelectronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

· Experience with electrical and mechanical text fixturing, product qualification, and technical documentation.

· Experience with image processing and machine vision algorithms is a plus.

· Experience with LED systems, machine vision and/or optical systems is a plus.

Technical Skills:

· Electrical and Mechanical engineering skills: creating EE and ME diagrams, soldering, assembling PCBs, placing components, etc.

· Hands-on skills: building and assembling prototypes, building and modifying mechanical test fixtures.

· Basic familiarity with some programming : C++, Python, or similar

· Experience with CAD software for designing electronic and mechanical components.

· Familiarity with machine vision software tools and libraries (e.g., OpenCV).

Skills:

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication and with team communication.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
