Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to join a FTSE 100 Global Bank. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure on the AWS cloud platform. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data requirements and deliver scalable, reliable, and efficient data solutions., * Design and implement data pipelines using AWS services such as S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, and Kinesis

  • Develop efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to ensure data quality and integrity
  • Optimize data storage and retrieval strategies to improve performance and cost-effectiveness
  • Automate deployment and monitoring of data infrastructure using tools like CloudFormation and CloudWatch
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Proactively identify and address data-related issues, and suggest improvements to enhance the overall data ecosystem
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services and best practices, and continuously enhance your skills and knowledge

Requirements

Do you have experience in ETL?, * Experience in designing and implementing data pipelines and infrastructure on the AWS cloud platform

  • Proficient in using AWS services such as S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Kinesis, and CloudFormation
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles, including ETL, data modelling, and data optimisation techniques
  • Familiarity with programming languages like Python, Scala, or Java, and experience with data processing frameworks like Spark or Airflow
  • Experience in automating deployment and monitoring of data infrastructure using tools like CloudFormation and CloudWatch
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
