The Information Systems Division works in collaboration with programs and county agencies, to provide solutions to systems that assist families access essentials such as, but not limited to, medical services, care providers, groceries, and transportation.

Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor I (IT Sup I) the Information Technology Associate (ITA) is responsible for providing immediate support within the Regional Offices to users utilizing California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Information Technology (IT) equipment. The ITA serves as a “Single Point of Contact” IT support analyst for all CDSS Regional Office users, including hardware and software support, and to provide advice, consultation, and analytical problem solving assistance in complex end user computing.

Working Conditions

This position is eligible for hybrid work in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Order N-22-25 and at the sole discretion of the Department of Social Services under California Government Code Section 14200. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be re-evaluated at any time. The incumbent will be expected to report for in office work and attend work related in-person events as deemed operationally necessary. STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATION (SOQ): In order to be considered for this position, you must submit a statement of qualifications in addition to the standard state application. The statement of qualifications must be typed, single-spaced, no more than two (2) pages in length, 12-point Arial font, and address the following:

1. Provide an example of a time you dealt with a difficult customer. What steps did you take, and what was the outcome?

2. Describe a technical project you worked on with others. What was your role and responsibility, and was the end result?
