Job description

The Computer Service Support Specialist serves as the primary on-site technology support resource for the Hoosic Valley Central School District. This role is essential to maintaining smooth, daily technology operations across the district., * Hardware & Device Setup: Configure, deploy, and maintain workstations, devices, classroom technology, printers, and peripherals.

  • Software & Maintenance: Install, update, and troubleshoot software applications and operating systems.
  • User Support: Serve as the first point of contact for staff and students, resolving day-to-day technology needs with a professional, customer-service-oriented approach.
  • Troubleshooting & Escalation: Diagnose and resolve common technical issues in a timely manner, escalating more complex problems to higher-level IT staff when necessary.
  • Collaboration: Work closely under the direction of the IT Project Manager and Director of Technology to support district-wide tech initiatives.

  • Strong foundational technical skills and sound judgment.
  • Prior IT support experience is helpful, but a desire to grow in the field is highly valued., Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
  • (A) Graduation from a regionally accredited college/university (or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees) with an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or a closely related field; OR
  • (B) Graduation from high school (or possession of a high school equivalency diploma) AND a professional certification in a computer-related field. (IT certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ are preferred); OR
  • (C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
