Business Application Specialist I

The Virginia Beach Police Department is seeking a critically thinking and self-learning Business Application Specialist I to assist with upcoming technology-related departmental projects while maintaining existing systems and equipment. This position operates in a fast-paced environment and will serve as a key member of the Police Department Technology Unit. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide day-to-day support and account management for Records Management software and several other systems such as Axon RMS, Evidence.com, and/or other applications such Tyler - Brazos system, CAD system, ShotSpotter, LInX, Livescan.
• Assist with the implementation of future application modules
• Serve as power-user for mobile device management software (MDM) and cell phone provider portal
• Assist with maintenance and inventory of technology assets (hardware and software)
• Assist with maintenance and inventory of mobile phones
• Develop and document business procedures for use with division’s applications
• Develop training materials and conduct end-user training
• Assist with data entry functions and routine report generation
• Analyze business operations; identify business needs and business process improvements
• Liaison with IT Department and/or vendor to resolve software or hardware issues and use of IT service request software such as ServiceNow
