Job description

We are seeking an experienced L2 Data Center Technician with 4-5 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise data center operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in server hardware troubleshooting, break/fix support, rack and stack activities, cabling, and infrastructure maintenance. This role involves installing, configuring, upgrading, and decommissioning data center equipment while working closely with network and infrastructure teams to ensure high availability and operational excellence. The candidate must be comfortable working in a rotational shift environment (no night shifts)., * Perform rack and stack of servers, storage, and network devices.

  • Install, relocate, and decommission data center hardware.
  • Handle fiber and copper cabling, including labeling, cable routing, and cable management.
  • Troubleshoot server hardware issues and perform break/fix activities.
  • Replace faulty server components and coordinate RMA and defective part returns with vendors.
  • Update server firmware and BIOS to the latest supported versions.
  • Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.
  • Support network administrators with server connectivity, cable replacements, optics replacement, and hardware upgrades.
  • Temporarily rack, stack, cable, and prepare servers or switches for remote configuration by network teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of hardware installations, cabling, inventory, and asset changes.
  • Assist with server, switch, and storage deployments while adhering to data center standards and operational procedures.
  • Support Level 1 data center activities as required.
  • Participate in rotational shifts while ensuring reliable and efficient data center operations.

Requirements

  • Understanding of core data center infrastructure and components
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and server break/fix experience
  • Strong cabling, labeling, and documentation skills
