Job description

Our client is seeking a Point of Care (POC) Device Integration Specialist to support a large-scale initiative focused on integrating Point of Care Testing (POCT) devices across multiple provider office locations. This hands-on role will be responsible for configuring, connecting, and troubleshooting medical testing devices while working closely with clinical, laboratory, and IT teams to ensure successful deployment and connectivity.

The ideal candidate has a blend of IT infrastructure knowledge and healthcare technology experience, particularly with Point of Care testing devices and middleware applications.

Responsibilities

  • Support the deployment and integration of Point of Care Testing (POCT) devices across provider office locations.
  • Configure and install POC devices, ensuring proper network connectivity and communication with enterprise systems.
  • Set up PCs, network-connected devices, and related hardware required for POC implementations.
  • Connect devices to network infrastructure using RJ45 cabling and validate connectivity through IP addressing, network configuration, and diagnostic tools such as ping.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, network, and device communication issues during installation and post-deployment support.
  • Configure and validate device connectivity with middleware platforms and laboratory information systems.
  • Collaborate with laboratory, clinical, and IT teams to ensure devices are properly integrated into existing workflows.
  • Document installation procedures, configurations, and support activities.
  • Assist with testing, issue resolution, and go-live support throughout the implementation process.

Requirements

  • Experience configuring and supporting PCs and network-connected devices.
  • Working knowledge of basic networking concepts, including:
  • RJ45 cabling
  • IP addressing
  • Network connectivity troubleshooting
  • Ping and other basic network diagnostic tools
  • Experience installing, configuring, or supporting Point of Care (POC) testing devices.
  • Understanding of Point of Care testing workflows within a healthcare or laboratory environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in clinical settings.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Point of Care middleware platforms such as Roche Navify, RALS, or similar connectivity solutions.
  • Previous experience supporting laboratory or healthcare technology implementations.
  • Familiarity with healthcare environments, provider practices, or hospital systems.
  • Experience working on enterprise device deployment or integration projects.

Benefits & conditions

$25 - $30 an hour - Contract, Ideal Background
