Work Schedule
Flexible workdays and work hours, Monday - Friday, between 8 AM - 5 PM. The final work schedule will be determined by the supervisor.
Additional Work Schedule
Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 24 hours per workweek (Sunday - Saturday) during the academic year and up to 30 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter, spring, and summer)., + Knowledge of network technologies, ability to perform first level troubleshooting efforts.
- Research various databases to assist in data migration and cleanup efforts.
- Access, monitor and update various Service Now work queues.
- Create and revise processes and procedures, spreadsheets, presentations, graphs, network diagrams, and reports utilizing MS Office software, Visio, SharePoint, internet and intranet tools etc.
- Work on both long- and short-term assignments, both individually and as a part of a team.
- Multi-task, flexible and possess the ability to complete assignments in a timely manner. Participate in conducting physical inventory, which includes lifting, moving and scanning of equipment. Physical Requirements Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation.

The California Department of Technology (CDT) is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Student Assistant to join our Network Engineering Operations team. This is a great opportunity to build technical and professional skills while working alongside experienced IT professionals in a collaborative environment.
As a Student Assistant, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting day-to-day network operations and administrative functions. You’ll assist with maintaining databases, validating and migrating data between applications, creating reports, updating documentation, monitoring ServiceNow work queues, and supporting staff with research and troubleshooting efforts. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with network tools and dashboards, create design diagrams, and assist with equipment tracking and inventory.
Throughout the position, you’ll develop experience using a variety of software applications, including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Visio, and other business tools. You’ll also gain a better understanding of network operations while learning from experienced team members.

Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause., $18.00 - $20.00 per hour., Work is performed in a hybrid environment. This position is hybrid. The Student Assistant will be expected to work onsite at the California Department of Technology’s (CDT) Rancho Cordova headquarters on designated days, with the option to work remotely on other days. Students/Employees will be required to work according to the current UEI remote workplace policy and sign a UEI Work from Home Agreement. The decision to permit an employee to work from home is at the discretion of the supervisor or employer and may, at any time and with or without cause, unilaterally terminate the option to work from home.

Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at one of the accredited colleges or universities on our affiliation list.
