Job description

Are you an enthusiastic IT professional who enjoys solving problems, supporting people, and getting involved in a wide variety of technology projects?, Our client is a leading UK training provide due to continued growth, they are looking for a motivated IT Support Technician to join their Digital team at their York Head Office.

This is a great opportunity to become a key member of a small, friendly team where you won’t just be another support number. You’ll have the chance to work across multiple systems, contribute ideas, improve processes and play an important role in keeping the organisation’s technology running smoothly., As an IT Support Technician, you will provide hands-on technical support across the business, helping colleagues get the most from their technology while maintaining and improving IT systems.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and resolving IT support requests from initial logging through to completion.
  • Providing friendly and effective technical support via phone, remote desktop and face-to-face.
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues.
  • Installing, maintaining and upgrading IT equipment.
  • Supporting users across Windows and Mac environments.
  • Managing user accounts and access across business systems.
  • Researching, sourcing and ordering IT equipment and supplies.
  • Carrying out equipment deliveries, collections and setups across departments.
  • Assisting with testing and quality assurance of new systems.
  • Supporting ongoing improvements to the organisation’s IT infrastructure.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who is technically capable, organised and enjoys working with people. You will ideally have:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience supporting Windows and macOS environments.
  • The ability to investigate issues independently and find practical solutions.
  • A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and get involved.
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux systems would be advantageous.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.

Benefits & conditions

Monday to Thursday: 8:45am - 5:30pm Friday: 8:45am - 5:00pm (One-hour lunch break)
