Job description

Brown City Community Schools is seeking a Technology Specialist to assist the Director of Technology in supporting and maintaining district technology systems, devices, and infrastructure. This position provides technical support to staff and students, assists with troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintains district technology equipment, and helps ensure reliable day-to-day operation of district technology systems.

This position is a part-time position working approximately 22-29 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities

These duties and responsibilities are judged to be “essential functions” in terms of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).   • Provides technical support and troubleshooting assistance for staff and students.
  • Assists with setup, deployment, maintenance, and repair of computers, Chromebooks, printers, interactive displays, and other district technology devices.
  • Assists in maintaining district network infrastructure, wireless systems, and related technology equipment.
  • Installs, configures, updates, and maintains software and operating systems.
  • Assists with user account management and password support.
  • Helps maintain technology inventory and asset tracking systems.
  • Assists with technology projects, device rollouts, and system upgrades.
  • Responds to technology support requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Technology to ensure reliable technology operations throughout the district.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding student and staff information.
  • Participates in training and professional development opportunities as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology or Superintendent.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Operating systems?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High school diploma required.

  • Experience in the technology/IT field preferred.
  • IT-related certifications preferred.
  • Enrollment in or completion of IT-related coursework preferred.
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and community members.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently when needed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to technology issues efficiently.

Benefits & conditions

This position pays $18.00 per hour., In accordance with federal law, any person employed by the district must provide evidence that s/he is eligible to work in the United States

In accordance with state law and board policy, no person shall be hired to work in contact with children prior to being fingerprinted and passing a criminal records review.
