Job description
Looking for a skilled UH or nearby college student for ongoing, task-based technical help. This is a flexible, part-time position structured around specific hardware and networking milestones rather than set weekly hours. Perfect for an IT, Computer Science, or Engineering student looking for extra income between classes.
Requirements
- Hardware Build: Proven experience building custom PCs from scratch with immaculate cable management.
- Server & NAS: Prior experience setting up home servers, network-attached storage, or home lab environments.
- Software Deployments: Skilled in OS installation, driver configurations, and network mapping/security.
- Work Style: Reliable, highly careful with expensive components, and organized.
Benefits & conditions
From $25 an hour - Part-time, Contract, * Scope: Complete hardware assembly of a custom PC, followed by individual tasks to configure a home server network. Future tech tasks may be offered as needed.
- Parts: All components, tools, and software licenses are provided.
- Location: Near the University of Houston campus (on-site work required for assembly).
- Compensation: Starting $25/hr (paid immediately upon completion of each task/milestone)
