Job description

The Office Technology Group is looking for a driven and technically sharp Professional Services Engineer to join our Managed Services team. In this role, you’ll own the full lifecycle of technology implementation projects for our clients - from scoping and planning through execution and clean handoff - while also serving as a high-level escalation resource for our Service Desk team.

This is a highly visible, client-facing position that demands both deep technical expertise and the professional polish to work directly with decision-makers at client organizations. If you thrive on ownership and take pride in delivering clean, well-documented outcomes - we want to hear from you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Project Planning & Ownership

· Independently scope, plan, and execute technology implementation projects from initiation through closure

· Identify and document potential risks and areas of complexity before work begins; proactively escalate scope changes

· Apply independent judgment that accounts for the full picture

· Participate in sprint planning and retrospectives, contributing to team sprint goals

Communication & Professionalism

· Maintain a high standard of professionalism in all customer-facing interactions - verbal, written, and onsite

· Provide proactive, consistent project status updates to all relevant stakeholders

Execution & Documentation

· Execute project work in an organized, methodical, and deliberate manner; manage timelines proactively

· Create and maintain complete, accurate documentation for all completed projects

· Ensure clean handoffs to the support team with appropriate documentation and context

· Submit all project-related time entries accurately

· Assist with high-level support escalations and participate in after-hours/on-call rotation as needed

Requirements

· 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in a Managed Services or Professional Services environment

· Demonstrated ability to independently manage and execute technology implementation projects for clients

· Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

· Strong professional judgment and the ability to make sound, independent decisions in client-facing situations

· Effective organizational and time management skills with strong problem-solving abilities

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

· Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License with an insurable driving record

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required

· Microsoft Hyper-V

· Microsoft 365 & Azure Cloud Services Administration

· System Backup and Recovery

· Microsoft Server 2016 and later

· Advanced Networking (VLANs, Routing, Enterprise Switching)

· Server and SAN Hardware

· Juniper & HP, Ubiquiti Switches

· Ubiquiti, Aruba Wireless

· FortiGate Firewalls

· Windows 10 and later

Preferred / Nice to Have

· Telecommunication Systems (specifically VoIP)

· Cisco Routers / Switches / Wireless

· Additional Hypervisor Tools (VMware, Proxmox, etc.)

· Microsoft Azure Cloud Hosting

· Apple / Mac Products

· CompTIA A+, Net+, Security+ or equivalent certifications

· Experience with cybersecurity best practices in client environments

· Degree in Information Technology / Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
