Job description
Optum is seeking an Epic Willow Inpatient Analyst to support pharmacy operations within a large healthcare environment. This role will focus on application maintenance, incident management, and ongoing optimization of inpatient pharmacy workflows. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting Epic Willow builds, upgrades, and troubleshooting in a production environment., Core Analyst Responsibilities:

Manage and complete SRS requests including intake, triage, and build work (primarily SER updates)

Provide incident management support by troubleshooting and resolving issues across Epic Willow Inpatient workflows
-
Support enhancement requests including analysis, build, testing, and migration to production
-
Assist with day-to-day ticketing and operational support for pharmacy systems
Pharmacy & Clinical Support:
-
Perform medication build and maintenance, including:
-
New medication records
-
NDC updates
-
Formulation changes
-
Review and triage pharmacy-related error queues (ADS and billing-related issues)
-
Support Pyxis integration and workflows, including coordination with vendors and internal teams for monthly updates and medication dispensing processes

Assist with quarterly Epic upgrades, including:

Reviewing release notes
-
Build and configuration updates
Requirements
-
Epic Willow Inpatient Certification (required)
-
3+ years of experience supporting Epic Willow, preferably in an inpatient setting
-
Hands-on experience with build, maintenance, and troubleshooting in Epic pharmacy modules
-
Experience supporting ticketing environments and system enhancements
-
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience supporting Pyxis or similar automated dispensing systems
-
Familiarity with ServiceNow or other ticketing tools
-
Experience working in large, matrixed healthcare organizations
-
Exposure to tools such as Omnicell, Pyxis or First Databank
Clinical Background (Nice-to-Have)
-
PharmD is not required; candidates with pharmacy technician backgrounds are eligible However, a clinical background is preferred for:

Complex medication build
-
Clinical order set configuration
