Cyber Data Protection/PKI Specialist Senior Consultant

Experteer Overview In this Senior Consultant role, you help clients design, implement, and operate data protection and PKI programs to reduce data risks across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments. You’ll act as a trusted advisor on encryption, key management, and certificate lifecycle, while guiding delivery teams to ensure high-quality outcomes. You will stay ahead of encryption trends and advocate for new tools that strengthen clients’ cyber posture. This is a cross-functional, client-facing position within Deloitte’s Cyber Strategy & Transformation practice, with opportunities to influence strategy and execution at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Serve as SME and trusted advisor on data protection and encryption requirements * Design, implement and operate encryption strategies across environments; manage PKI deployment and certificate lifecycle * Lead client engagements: drive delivery, communicate updates, and ensure high-quality work products * Monitor project timelines and budgets, report progress to clients and leadership * Stay updated on emerging encryption technologies and industry trends; evaluate and recommend new tools * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data protection services * Assist in developing data protection requirements, vendor evaluations, and architecture * Provide client-facing requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and executive communication * Lead small teams/workstreams and produce client-ready deliverables Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in relevant field * 5+ years in data protection and information security (including Data Discovery, Data Classification, DLP, Cloud Security, Encryption, CLM, etc.) * 5+ years PKI concepts (certificates, CAs, RA, CSR, OCSP, CRL, HSM, key management) * 2+ years implementing various encryption technologies (DB/file encryption, PKI, TLS) and cloud encryption concepts (BYOK) * 2+ years developing data protection strategies, roadmaps, and frameworks * 2+ years hands-on experience with data protection technologies and CLM platforms (AppViewX, Venafi, Keyfactor, DigiCert) * 2+ years experience with TLS/SSL, SSH, S/MIME, code signing; NIST-aligned practices * 2+ years certificate discovery, inventory, automation, renewal, compliance monitoring * 2+ years experience with integration points across F5, load balancers, WAFs, Kubernetes, APIs, and cloud platforms * 2+ years client-facing skills: requirements gathering, stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, executive communication * 2+ years leading small teams/workstreams and producing client-ready deliverables * Ability to travel 25-50% * Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM or similar * Limited immigration sponsorship may be available Key requirements *
