Lead Generative AI Data Engineer III

Experteer Overview In this role you guide and deliver AI/ML initiatives for client and internal use, shaping scalable data and AI platforms. You’ll lead cross-functional efforts, drive quality and timeliness, and mentor teammates to elevate capability and reliability. The position sits within Deloitte’s GPS practice, focusing on transforming public sector operations with advanced analytics. You’ll work at scale to help clients mature their data, AI, and analytics capabilities and realize meaningful impact. Compensation / Benefits * Lead the end-to-end design, development, testing, and deployment of ML/AI solutions for business and client use cases * Manage AI engineering workstreams-assign work, review deliverables, ensure quality and on-time delivery, resolve issues * Develop and oversee data pipelines, model training workflows, and production-grade app components for AI-enabled products * Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, product stakeholders, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions * Coach and mentor junior practitioners, provide day-to-day guidance, monitor model and application performance to improve accuracy, reliability, and scalability Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field * 7+ years of professional experience * 5+ years designing, developing, or deploying ML/AI solutions * 3+ years programming in Python, Pyspark, Pytorch, and Tensorflow * 2+ years of technology consulting experience in State or Local Government * 2+ years leading technical teams or workstreams for AI/ML delivery * 1+ years working with AI technologies such as Gemini, Anthropic, and OpenAI * Active certification in Python, Pyspark, Pytorch, and Tensorflow * Willingness to travel ~20% * Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship Key requirements *
