Experteer Overview As a Lead AI and Data Science Engineer II, you drive design, development, and deployment of AI/ML solutions for client needs. You lead AI engineering workstreams, ensuring quality and timely delivery while shaping production-grade data pipelines and models. You collaborate across cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable tech solutions and mentor junior practitioners. You’ll operate within Deloitte’s GPS practice, tackling government and public sector challenges with data-driven insights and AI-driven products. Compensation / Benefits * Lead design, development, testing, and deployment of ML/AI solutions for client use cases * Manage AI engineering workstreams, assign tasks, review deliverables, and drive quality and timelines * Develop and oversee data pipelines, model training workflows, and production-grade components * Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, product stakeholders, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions * Coach and mentor junior practitioners and monitor model/app performance to improve accuracy and reliability Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field * 7+ years of professional experience * 5+ years designing, developing, or deploying ML/AI/advanced analytics solutions * 3+ years programming in Python, Pyspark, Pytorch, and Tensorflow * 2+ years technology consulting in State or Local Government * 2+ years leading technical teams or workstreams in AI/ML solution delivery * 1+ years working with AI technologies such as Gemini, Anthropic, and OpenAI * Active certification in Python, Pyspark, Pytorch, and Tensorflow * Ability to travel ~20% * Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship Key requirements * broad range of benefits * professional development opportunities * discretionary annual incentive program
