Job description

We’re partnered with an established manufacturing and technology-focused business in London that’s continuing to invest in its technology infrastructure and digital capabilities. They’re now looking for an experienced 2nd Line Engineer to join their growing IT team and play an important role in supporting and improving their technical environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working in a modern, technology-led business where IT plays a key role in keeping operations running efficiently. You’ll take ownership of escalated technical issues while gaining exposure to a broad range of infrastructure, cloud, networking, and security technologies.

You’ll work closely with senior members of the IT team on infrastructure improvements, system upgrades, cloud technologies, security initiatives, and technical projects. This gives you the opportunity to develop beyond traditional 2nd Line support and build the skills required to progress into more senior infrastructure-focused roles.

The business is looking for someone who is technically curious, proactive, and enjoys solving problems. With continued investment in technology and opportunities to get involved in projects, this is a great environment for an engineer looking to take their career to the next level.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a 2nd Line IT Support / Technical Support role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365 and Active Directory
  • Good understanding of networking technologies including DNS, DHCP, VPNs and firewalls
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software and infrastructure issues
  • Exposure to cloud technologies and modern IT environments
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • A proactive approach with a genuine interest in technology
  • MSP experience is highly desirable but not essential

Benefits & conditions

  • £38,000 - £45,000 Salary
  • Work within a technology-driven manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to Cloud Infrastructure, Networking and Cyber Security technologies
  • Hands-on involvement in infrastructure improvements and technical projects
  • Opportunity to work closely with senior IT and infrastructure specialists
  • Clear progression pathway into 3rd Line, Infrastructure or Cloud Engineering roles
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Modern technology environment
  • 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
