Job description
The Data Operations Coordinator manages the flow of financial information into Enterprise Performance Management systems for our client based in Brussels. You will ensure that data pipelines remain functional and accurate during complex system remediations and reporting cycles. This is a permanent, full-time position that functions as a fully remote role.
About Alpine Business Consulting Alpine Business Consulting works at the intersection of finance processes and the systems that support them. We specialize in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and analytics, helping finance teams fix platforms that never delivered on their promises. While we build new systems from scratch, much of our work involves remediating existing setups in Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, and Power BI. We focus on the numbers side of the house, ensuring that consolidation rules, intercompany eliminations, and reporting pipelines reflect how a finance team actually operates. Our approach moves away from typical implementation theatre. We prioritize finance-first configurations and fixed-price engagements, giving our clients certainty before any work begins. We do not believe in keeping clients dependent on us. Instead, we build administrator training and documentation into every project so teams can run their systems independently after go-live. We are a remote-first team of consultants who understand that a dashboard is only useful if the data is accurate to the cent and available the morning a period closes. Whether it is a cloud migration or a complex forecasting model, we value precision over presentation.
What You Will Do
- Monitor data loads from source ERP systems into Oracle EPM and Power BI environments.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in intercompany elimination rules and consolidation logs.
- Update mapping tables to ensure new general ledger accounts are correctly categorized.
- Assist in the production of monthly financial reporting packages for the Brussels-based client.
- Test system logic during remediation projects to ensure consolidation rules work as intended.
- Document data flows and administrative procedures to support final client handover.
- Verify that numbers in Power BI dashboards match the underlying ledger data exactly.
- Help prepare and clean data sets for large-scale cloud migration projects.
- Communicate with finance teams to understand and document their reporting requirements.
Requirements
- A basic understanding of accounting principles, including debits, credits, and consolidations.
- Familiarity with Excel, including the ability to use basic formulas and pivot tables effectively.
- Genuine interest in how software systems handle large amounts of financial information.
- A high level of attention to detail: you notice when a balance sheet does not balance.
- Willingness to learn tools like Power BI or Oracle EPM through direct, hands-on work.
- Good communication skills for explaining technical issues to users who work in finance.
- Comfort working in a 100 percent remote environment using digital coordination tools.
- A proactive approach to finding errors before they reach the final management report.
Benefits & conditions
- A permanent, full-time position with pay that is competitive for the entry-level market.
- The ability to work from anywhere as part of our established remote-first culture.
- Direct exposure to high-level finance projects for a major client in Brussels.
- A structured learning environment where you work alongside experienced consultants.
- A workplace that values quiet, focused effort over performative meetings.
- Practical training in EPM tools that are highly valued in the corporate finance sector.
- Clear project scopes that prevent burnout and focus on defined, tangible results.
How We Work Our firm operates on the belief that consulting should be transparent and finite. We use fixed-price contracts to ensure that our goals are aligned with the client: we want the system to work perfectly and we want to finish the job on time. We do not use jargon to hide problems or stretch out timelines. Because we work remotely, we rely on clear documentation and precise data handling rather than physical presence. Our goal is to leave the client better than we found them, equipped with a system they fully understand and can manage without our help. We prioritize the integrity of the data above all else, knowing that finance teams depend on our work to make critical business decisions.
