Job description

JHC Consulting operates as a deliberate advisory firm focused on governance, strategy, and leadership. We provide counsel to board committees and chief executives who require an external challenge to their internal views. Currently, our practice is engaged with a European regulatory body to support their strategic development and data transparency initiatives. We are adding a Graduate Frontend Developer to our team to help build the interfaces and tools necessary for this specific mandate. This is a permanent, full-time position conducted entirely in a remote capacity. The Role As a Graduate Frontend Developer, you will translate technical requirements and analytical concepts into functional web applications. Much of the work involves building data-heavy interfaces that require precision and a focus on readability. Since our firm values the signed memorandum over the slide deck, the tools you build must reflect that same commitment to clear, accessible information. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Developing and maintaining web interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Translating complex regulatory data sets into clear, navigable dashboards.
  • Writing clean, documented code that follows the firm’s standards for clarity.
  • Testing applications for usability and technical performance across various browsers.
  • Collaborating with principals to understand the analytical requirements of our regulatory partner.
  • Refining user interfaces based on direct feedback from the analysts using the tools.
  • Participating in technical reviews to ensure the integrity of our digital products., At JHC Consulting, we do not follow the standard ceremonies of the technology or consulting industries. There are no daily stand-up meetings or crowded brainstorming sessions. Instead, we rely on individual accountability. When you are assigned a task, you are the primary author of that solution. You will conduct your own research, write your code, and document your logic. Every piece of work is eventually signed by its creator. This model requires a high degree of self-regulation and a preference for deep, focused work where the document or the code is the final proof of effort. Working at JHC Consulting This firm is fully remote by design. You are expected to manage your own schedule and environment to produce the best possible results. We offer a professional setting where the quality of the output is the primary metric of success. The compensation for this role is competitive for the market and reflects the high standards we hold for our graduate hires. Because we are a small firm, you will have direct exposure to our principals and will see the direct impact of your work on the regulatory mandates we fulfill. We value the discipline of the written word and the courage to name uncomfortable truths in our analysis. We maintain a high level of discretion and rigor in all our engagements. The tools we build for the European regulatory body are intended to serve as a long-term record of their decisions and data. Joining JHC Consulting means accepting the responsibility that comes with signed work. Your contributions will be held to the same standard of scrutiny as the memoranda authored by our principals. We look for individuals who find satisfaction in the discipline of the craft and the clarity of a well-executed technical solution.

Requirements

We are looking for a graduate who understands that technical skill is secondary to clear thinking. You should be comfortable working with the building blocks of the web and be willing to learn how we apply these tools to high-level advisory work. We require:

  • A foundational understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Basic familiarity with a frontend library such as React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to explain technical logic in plain English.
  • An analytical mindset that questions assumptions and seeks the simplest solution to a problem.
  • The ability to work independently in a remote setting without constant supervision.
  • A degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field, though we also value equivalent self-taught experience.
  • Attention to detail and a preference for precision over visual flair.
