Job description

We are hiring a Desktop Support Technician for a long-term contract opportunity in Newport News, VA. This role is ideal for an IT professional with strong deskside support experience in Windows environments who enjoys troubleshooting technical issues and supporting end users in a fast-paced setting.

The Desktop Support Technician will provide day-to-day technical support for hardware, software, and infrastructure-related issues while working closely with internal teams to maintain reliable IT operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide deskside and technical support for Windows-based environments
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral-related issues
  • Install, configure, and support desktop hardware and software applications
  • Support Windows 10 and Microsoft Office Suite environments
  • Assist with infrastructure projects and daily operational tasks
  • Participate in system monitoring and basic infrastructure troubleshooting
  • Document technical issues, resolutions, and support procedures
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve IT challenges efficiently
  • Follow established IT service delivery standards and best practices
  • Deliver strong customer service and end-user support

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, * 3+ years of Desktop Support or Deskside Support experience

  • Strong experience supporting Windows 10 environments
  • Experience with hardware and software installation and troubleshooting
  • Hands-on Microsoft Office Suite support experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when needed

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in enterprise IT environments
  • Knowledge of infrastructure support processes and ticketing systems
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
