Job description

Designing and architecting scalable data platforms and pipelines that meet business and technical requirements
Gathering and translating data requirements from stakeholders into technical specifications and system designs
Collaborating with engineering and analytics teams to ensure data quality, alignment and usability across the organisation
Evaluating and recommending technologies, tools and frameworks to support data infrastructure (including Azure, AWS, cloud platforms, containerisation and orchestration)
Developing and maintaining data models, schemas and documentation to support system understanding and governance
Implementing and overseeing CI/CD practices and automated deployment for data systems
Engaging with stakeholders to understand evolving data needs and refine architecture roadmaps
Contributing to data governance, security and compliance standards

Requirements

5+ years’ experience in data architecture, data engineering or related roles
Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
Strong experience designing data pipelines, data platforms and distributed systems
Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Hands-on experience with SQL databases and data quality frameworks
Knowledge of microservices architecture, APIs and modern integration patterns
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
Strong problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills

Nice-to-have

Experience with SAP RISE, SAP S/4HANA or enterprise data migration
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance requirements (CSDR)
Experience with Power BI or similar analytics platforms
Scripting or programming experience in Python, Java, Bash or similar languages
