Job description

This is an opportunity to register your interest in future Data Architect positions within organisations modernising their data platforms and infrastructure. Roles of this type may involve designing and implementing scalable data solutions that bridge legacy systems such as SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC with modern cloud-native architectures. You could work across distributed systems, microservices and containerised environments, contributing to the strategic direction of how data pipelines, data quality and system integration are approached., * Designing and documenting data architectures that align with business requirements and technical strategy

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into scalable pipeline designs
  • Supporting the implementation of data pipelines and ensuring data quality standards across systems
  • Working across cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and on-premise infrastructure to define integration patterns
  • Contributing to the evaluation and design of microservices and distributed system architectures
  • Engaging with technical teams on CI/CD practices and containerisation strategies using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Documenting architectural decisions using UML, BPMN and other diagrammatic standards
  • Supporting compliance and data governance where relevant to the organisation’s requirements, * Opportunity to influence how data is structured and integrated across modern and legacy systems
  • Exposure to cloud platform strategy and distributed system design at scale

  • Continued development in cloud technologies, data engineering practices and enterprise architecture methodologies

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience in data architecture or systems design
  • Demonstrable experience designing data pipelines and assessing data quality in enterprise environments
  • Working knowledge of at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP) and on-premise SQL environments
  • Familiarity with APIs, microservices and distributed system principles
  • Experience with containerisation tools such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and infrastructure-as-code approaches
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, particularly in gathering and translating data requirements
  • Authorisation to work in the United Kingdom

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with SAP systems (S/4HANA, ECC or RISE)
  • Proficiency in languages such as Python, Java or .NET / ASP.NET
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform
  • Familiarity with analytics and visualisation tools such as Power BI
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows system administration
  • Experience with network infrastructure, F5 load balancers or DMZ design
