Data Architect

We are seeking to register interest from Data Architects for future contract opportunities based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Roles of this type could sit within organisations undergoing significant digital transformation, where data systems need to evolve to support real-time analytics, microservices-driven architectures and cloud-native infrastructure. You would be working with cross-functional teams to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical delivery, designing data pipelines and architectures that enable scalability, reliability and data quality at scale., * Designing and architecting end-to-end data solutions, from requirements gathering through to implementation and optimisation

• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable data architecture patterns
• Leading data requirements gathering and ensuring alignment across pipelines, quality standards and stakeholder expectations
• Defining data models, APIs and microservices-based architectures that support distributed, cloud-native environments
• Advising on technology choices across cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
• Establishing data quality frameworks and monitoring practices to ensure consistency and reliability
• Mentoring and guiding technical teams on architectural best practices and design patterns
• Supporting CI/CD pipeline design and deployment automation across development and production environments, Most roles of this type offer the following, dependent on the industry and seniority of the role:

• 5+ years’ experience designing and delivering data architecture solutions in enterprise environments
• Demonstrable expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and distributed systems design
• Strong knowledge of data pipeline design, data quality analysis and stakeholder engagement in data initiatives
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, .NET or similar)
• Familiarity with API design, microservices patterns and asynchronous communication
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
• Authorization to work in the United Kingdom

Nice-to-have

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC or enterprise resource planning systems
• Knowledge of BPMN, UML or data modelling standards
• Exposure to cloud security frameworks (CSDR) or quality assurance standards (QMS, QARA)
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, advanced Excel or data visualisation tools
• Familiarity with Linux, Bash scripting or Windows system administration
