Job description

Roles of this type typically sit within technology teams responsible for cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices and platform engineering. The work could involve collaborating with software development teams, architects and operations specialists to implement scalable infrastructure, manage deployment pipelines and ensure system reliability. You could be based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England on a contract basis, working with organisations that depend on robust, well-designed infrastructure to deliver their services., * Designing and deploying cloud infrastructure across Azure, AWS or Google Cloud platforms

  • Managing containerised workloads using Kubernetes and Docker in production environments
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and deployment
  • Collaborating with development teams to optimise application performance and infrastructure efficiency
  • Implementing infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools such as Terraform
  • Managing and troubleshooting distributed systems, APIs and microservices architectures
  • Supporting database and data pipeline operations, including SQL and data quality assurance
  • Contributing to security and compliance practices, including network segmentation and DMZ management
  • Documenting infrastructure designs, runbooks and operational procedures

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Working knowledge of containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and deployment automation
  • Proficiency in infrastructure scripting or automation (Terraform, Bash or similar)
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs and microservices
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
  • Authorization to work in the United Kingdom

Nice-to-have

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with .NET, ASP.NET, Java or Spring Boot ecosystems
  • Knowledge of SAP systems (SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC or SAP RISE)
  • Exposure to monitoring, logging and observability tools (e.g. Power BI)
  • Experience with network infrastructure, F5 load balancing or DMZ management
  • Relevant certifications or safety training (SMSTS, First Aid, HV awareness)
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, data quality frameworks or business process modelling (BPMN, UML)
