  • Collaborating with development teams to understand platform requirements and deliver solutions
  • Monitoring, troubleshooting and optimising system performance and reliability
  • Documenting platform architecture, runbooks and operational procedures
  • Participating in on-call rotations and incident response activities

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Working knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and pipeline automation
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Understanding of distributed systems, microservices and APIs
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code approaches (Terraform or similar)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong Linux and/or Windows system administration skills

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with .NET, Java, Spring Boot or ASP.NET environments
  • Familiarity with data pipeline architecture or data quality practices
  • Knowledge of SAP environments (S/4HANA, ECC or RISE)
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Power BI, logging platforms)
  • Understanding of network concepts (F5, DMZ, load balancing)
  • SQL database management and optimisation
  • Relevant certifications or professional qualifications

Benefits & conditions

Most roles of this type offer the following, dependent on the industry and seniority of the role:

  • Exposure to modern cloud architecture and infrastructure practices at scale
  • Opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and platforms
  • Scope to develop deeper expertise in cloud engineering and platform design
  • Collaborative environment where you could learn from experienced technologists
  • Potential to progress toward senior-level platform responsibility as you grow experience
