Job description

We’re looking to add talented Java developers to our database for contract opportunities across Birmingham. If you’re experienced in building scalable applications with Java, Spring Boot and microservices, this could be the next step in your career., * Designing and developing microservices and APIs using Java and Spring Boot

Building and maintaining applications deployed across cloud platforms, including Azure and AWS
Contributing to CI/CD pipeline development and containerised deployments using Docker and Kubernetes
Writing clean, maintainable code that adheres to design patterns and best practices
Collaborating with team members on code reviews and architectural decisions
Integrating with distributed systems and ensuring data quality across applications
Supporting deployment and operational responsibilities within your development area

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
3+ years’ professional Java development experience
Strong proficiency with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks
Experience designing or working with microservices and APIs
Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases
Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with version control systems and CI/CD practices
Working knowledge of at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP)

Nice-to-have

Oracle Certified Associate or Oracle Certified Professional: Java SE qualification
Spring Professional certification (VMware)
Experience with React or other modern frontend frameworks
Exposure to distributed systems design patterns
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
Experience with messaging systems or event-driven architectures
Familiarity with Linux environments and Bash scripting
