Job description

Roles of this type may sit within a collaborative technical environment where you would work alongside data engineers, analysts and business stakeholders to design and implement Power BI solutions. The work could involve building dashboards, developing data models, optimising query performance and ensuring data quality across reporting platforms. You could have scope to influence how data is presented and interpreted across the business, supporting better decision-making at all levels., * Designing and developing Power BI dashboards and reports that meet business requirements

  • Building and optimising data models to support efficient reporting and analysis
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions
  • Ensuring data quality and integrity across Power BI solutions
  • Troubleshooting and optimising query performance and refresh cycles
  • Working with data pipelines and data quality processes to support end-to-end reporting solutions
  • Documenting data models, reports and technical specifications for stakeholder reference, Most roles of this type offer the following, dependent on the industry and seniority of the role:

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience building Power BI dashboards and reports in a professional environment
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, SQL and relational databases
  • Experience with data quality analysis and stakeholder engagement in data projects
  • Familiarity with Azure or cloud-based data platforms
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
  • Microsoft Power BI Certification or equivalent demonstrable expertise
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Nice-to-have skills and experience:

  • Experience with data pipelines, APIs and microservices architectures
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices and version control
  • Exposure to additional Microsoft tools such as Excel or Power Query
  • Understanding of distributed systems or cloud infrastructure
