The Junior IT Help Desk Engineer will provide technical support to our users, assist in maintaining and troubleshooting hardware and software systems, and work with the IT Team, to ensure smooth IT operations across the organisation.
This role is perfect for someone looking to begin or advance their career in IT support
The role will be based in Maidstone, however there will be a requirement to travel to our Norfolk site when required.
Working Hours 8am - 5pm, 1 hour unpaid for lunch, 40 hours per week. 5 days per week, some weekends included., * First-Level Support: Be the first point of contact for our users by providing technical assistance via phone, email or in-person.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues, escalating complex problems to senior members of the team or third party suppliers.
- Ticketing System: Log all incidents and service requests in the IT ticketing system, ensuring that issues are tracked and resolved in a timely manner.
- User Account Management: Assist in setting up, managing and troubleshooting user accounts and permissions.
- Software Installation and Support: Install, configure and update software applications on workstations, ensuring compatibility and security.
- Hardware Installation and Support: Assist with the setup, configuration and troubleshooting of desktop computers, laptops, printers and other peripheral devices.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for technical procedures, user guides and IT inventory.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by listening to our users’ concerns and communicating effectively with all members of the organisation.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance your technical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a strong interest in IT. Previous experience in a customer service or IT support role is preferred but not required., * Previous experience in a customer service or IT support role is preferred but not required.
- Clean Driving licence and own transport essential
- A Level or equivalent
- Basic understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, WiFi and other tech products
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good understanding of Windows operating systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
