Job description

We’re seeking a Data Engineer to join our growing data and analytics team based in Coventry, West Midlands. This is a contract opportunity focused on building and maintaining robust data infrastructure that supports critical business insights and decision-making. You could play a key role in designing, developing and optimizing data pipelines that enable the organization to leverage its data assets effectively., This is an opportunity to register your interest in future Data Engineer roles within a collaborative technical environment. Roles of this type may involve working with modern data platforms and cloud technologies to architect scalable, maintainable data solutions. You could contribute to the design and implementation of data pipelines, ensuring data quality, reliability and performance across distributed systems. The work could span requirements gathering, pipeline alignment and stakeholder engagement, with scope to improve how data flows through the organization., * Designing and building data pipelines to extract, transform and load data from multiple sources

  • Developing APIs and microservices to support data integration and distribution
  • Working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Implementing CI/CD practices to ensure reliable, automated deployment of data solutions
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Conducting data quality analysis and implementing quality assurance processes
  • Optimizing data infrastructure for performance, scalability and cost-efficiency
  • Supporting the alignment of data pipelines with business objectives
  • Contributing to documentation and knowledge sharing within the technical team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Proven experience designing and building data pipelines
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Proficiency with SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Java or similar)
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
  • Data quality analysis and requirements gathering experience
  • Authorization to work in the United Kingdom

Nice-to-have

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Google Cloud Data Engineer certification
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows environments
  • Experience with data tools such as Power BI or similar analytics platforms
