Data Architect

Roles of this type sit at the intersection of technical strategy and delivery, partnering with engineering teams, platform owners and business stakeholders to shape how data flows through modern, distributed systems. You could work on designing data pipelines, ensuring data quality across microservices architectures, and translating complex data requirements into systems that scale. • Gathering and translating data requirements from stakeholders into technical specifications and system designs
• Collaborating with engineering teams to align data pipelines with platform strategy and business objectives
• Conducting data quality analysis and establishing governance frameworks to maintain data integrity across systems
• Working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) to architect scalable, resilient data solutions
• Contributing to decisions around technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker and CI/CD practices as they relate to data systems
• Supporting the integration of data systems with enterprise platforms and third-party APIs

• Strong background in data architecture, data systems design or enterprise data engineering
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices and API-driven architectures
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• Proficiency in SQL and relational database design
• Working knowledge of data pipelines, ETL concepts and data quality practices
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Ability to translate business data requirements into technical solutions
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (Master’s degree valued)
• Comfortable working in agile, collaborative environments

Nice-to-have

• Experience with SAP systems (S/4HANA, ECC or RISE)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
• Knowledge of .NET / ASP.NET, Java / Spring Boot or Python in data contexts
• Experience with analytics and reporting tools (Power BI)
• Understanding of data governance frameworks and regulatory requirements (CSDR)
• Background in BPMN or UML for process and system modelling
