Job description

Communications Infrastructure & Support Section has an opening for an Information Technology Supervisor (ITS) I. Under the direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II, the ITS I is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, training, and support to project team members supervising day to day operations, and coordinating the activities of the California Law Enforcement Telecommunication System (CLETS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) Units. You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement., + The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired. The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) serves as documentation of each applicant’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. Each question must be numbered and addressed in the same order as the questions below. The SOQ must be typed, no more than two pages in length, and 10-point Arial font.

  1. Describe your experience supervising, managing, or leading information technology staff.
  2. Describe your experience and/or participation in information technology projects and their outcomes.
  3. Describe your experience when you had to manage a project or team dealing with a subject matter completely foreign to you. How did you get up to speed, and what was the outcome. Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified before appointment. To satisfy the minimum qualification requirement with education, you must include your unofficial transcript(s)/diploma for initial review. Original diplomas or official, sealed transcripts will be required before the start date. Applicants with foreign transcript(s)/degree(s) must provide a third-party transcript/degree credential evaluation that indicates the number of units, course by course, to which the foreign coursework is equivalent.
