Job description

Position requires a minimum of four (4) years of IT-related experience leading or supporting organizational change management efforts for information technology initiatives within a complex organization., * Developing and implementing organizational change management strategies for information technology initiatives that enable successful and sustained adoption of new technologies, systems, or business processes..

  • Applying a structured organizational change management methodology or framework (e.g., Prosci ADKAR, Kotter, Bridges, or similar).
  • Supporting organizational change management activities throughout the system development lifecycle (SDLC), including collaborating with business and technical teams during the planning, development, implementation, and adoption of information technology solutions.
  • Assessing organizational impacts, readiness, risks, and resistance associated with information technology changes and developing mitigation strategies to address identified barriers to change.
  • Developing or using organizational change management deliverables, including stakeholder assessments, change impact assessments, communication plans, training strategies, readiness assessments, or adoption metrics, to inform and support organizational change efforts.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding.
  • Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving to deliver positive user experiences.

Education in Information Technology (IT) or an IT-related field may substitute for experience as follows: a master’s degree for eighteen (18) months of experience; a bachelor’s degree for one (1) year; and an associate’s degree for six (6) months.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience establishing or enhancing organizational change management practices, governance frameworks, or organizational readiness within an information technology environment.
  • Experience leading organizational change management initiatives and effectively navigating competing priorities, organizational complexity, and resistance to change.
  • Experience developing and using organizational change management metrics, adoption measures, and other performance indicators to evaluate transformation outcomes, identify trends, and inform data-driven adjustments., * Experience leading organizational change management efforts for large-scale information technology transformation initiatives.
  • Experience advising and coaching executive leaders, managers, and project teams through complex organizational change.
  • Experience developing and executing communication, stakeholder engagement, and workforce enablement strategies that to support successful adoption of information technology solutions.
  • Experience using project, portfolio, or work management tools (e.g., Planview, Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow, or similar) to plan, coordinate, or monitor organizational change management activities.

As the Digital Transformation Change Lead, you will lead organizational change management efforts supporting large-scale information technology and digital transformation initiatives within MNIT partnering with the Minnesota Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF). You will work with executive leadership, technical teams, and business partners to develop and implement change strategies that help organizations successfully adopt new technologies, processes, and ways of working.

In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and consultation on organizational readiness, stakeholder engagement, communications, workforce enablement, and adoption planning. You will collaborate with leaders, employees, technical teams, agencies, and partner organizations to build change management capabilities and guide people through complex transformation efforts. The primary focus of this position is the people-side of transformation, helping leaders and employees understand, adopt, and sustain the organizational changes resulting from major technology initiatives. Through effective change leadership and engagement, this role will help ensure that major technology initiatives deliver meaningful and lasting improvements for Minnesota’s human services systems.

This position requires an employee to work onsite at 444 Lafayette Road, St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% [or more or less if space limitations remain] of the time, with limited telework available. Telework eligibility depends on residence:

  • Candidates living in Minnesota or within 50 miles of the worksite in a bordering state (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin) may telework up to 50%.
  • Minnesota residents living more than 50 miles from the worksite may be eligible to telework more than 50%.
  • Candidates living 50 miles or more from the worksite in a bordering state may work onsite 100% or may be telework eligible if relocating within 50 miles.
