Systems Engineering Network Engineering Full Stack Development Business Transformation Network Traffic Analysis Standard Operating Procedure Health Information Technology Troubleshooting (Problem Solving) Cisco Certified Network Associate, Large Enterprise is looking for a NOC Analyst for their Operations Center team on a 3 month contract through the end of the year - they do all the monitoring and troubleshooting of their systems and network (Windows OS and VMware servers, Citrix, Cloud, Cisco network devices) and applications triage. Using Solarwinds for monitoring and they use ServiceNow for ticket mngt. This 24x7 team is roughly 30 Engineers providing 24x7 support, and average about 5000+ P1 and P2 level tickets each month.
The Operations Center is the focal point for the entire Health System’s infrastructure. Under the direction of the Operations Shift Supervisor, this individual shall monitor and respond to system generated alerts as well as customer initiated issues reported to the Help Desk. As an OC Network Engineer one will provide on-site and remote network support including diagnosing, configuring and documenting complex network problems and respond to network issues affecting clinical applications, at assigned site(s). This individual will also work with Wide Area Network (WAN) and Internet carriers during implementations and outages.
The OC System Engineer- is expected to ensure incident resolution by executing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) or escalating to the Health System’s technical support and problem management teams.
Responsibilities:

Perform system monitoring and triage of incidents/problems based on SOP which include escalation to subject matter experts where appropriate

Diagnoses and correlates complex network problems, identifies root causes and develops remediation strategies

Documents all Network changes and implementations

Assist subject matter experts with response to problem, incident and change tickets

Effectively escalate issues and coordinate support with vendors to resolve problems

Ensure all daily functions are completed and appropriately communicated

Ensure all incident tickets, change tickets and e-mail requests are attended to in a timely fashion

Maintain a broad knowledge of all products, services and procedures

Write and maintain clear and concise documentation for incidents, notifications and procedures.

Performs trending analysis for chronic issue resolution and re-mediates escalated network issues.

Analyzes network traffic and report to management on results.

Works directly with WAN and internet carriers during implementations and outages.

Drives improvements in network process, efficiency and standardization.

Requirements

- Minimum of five (5) years, network support, implementation and experience with Cisco devices in an enterprise class data network environment and support of large scale multi-homed connections toISP networks, required.
o Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Network+ certifications would be highly preferred, but not required with applicable experience

Experience researching, analyzing and evaluating network solutions.

Knowledge of traffic analysis tools, performance and capacity tools experience is required.
o Solar Winds Engineers toolkit, Network Traffic analysis toolsets
o Experience working with infrastructure monitoring tool sets

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server technologies and networking principles are a plus

Possess a strong working knowledge of PC operation and software (Word and Excel proficiency)

Must be a self-starter and demonstrate the initiative to learn new systems quickly

Possess strong troubleshooting skills and demonstrates the ability to follow detailed instructions

Possess strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to multitask during periods of high volume

Ability to lift supplies and equipment of at least 50 lbs
