Job description

Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting an IT Support Technician / IT Technician to join the IT team at a leading school in Wigston, Leicestershire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT Support, ICT, Technical Support or Helpdesk professional to work within an education environment, providing day-to-day technical support to pupils, teachers and school staff.

IT Support Technician - The Role

Working as part of the school’s existing IT team, you will provide practical school IT support across the site, helping staff and pupils resolve everyday technical issues and ensuring IT systems and equipment are working effectively.

Your responsibilities may include:

Providing first-line IT support and technical support to teachers, pupils and colleagues

Setting up and managing user accounts, email accounts and passwords

Supporting computers, laptops, tablets, printers and other IT hardware

Troubleshooting hardware, software, connectivity and access issues

Assisting with Microsoft 365, email and user account support

Setting up equipment, devices and accounts for new users

Responding to IT helpdesk requests and resolving technical problems

Supporting classrooms and staff with day-to-day technology

Escalating more complex technical issues to the wider IT team

Helping maintain reliable and effective ICT and IT systems across the school

Requirements

You should be confident troubleshooting common IT problems, supporting users and explaining technical solutions clearly.

Previous experience working in a school, academy, college or education setting would be beneficial, although strong IT support experience from another environment will also be considered.

Due to the school-based nature of the position and regular contact with children and young people, an Enhanced DBS check may be required.

£150 per day DOE - negotiable
