Job description
Registration and Scheduling Specialists perform a variety of tasks as the first telephone contact with the practice by patients and prospective patients. This includes providing excellent customer/patient services; referring callers to the appropriate departments; making appointments for patients according to established practice protocols; and assisting patients/clients with forms., * Answers phone in a clear, courteous and professional manner; takes accurate phone messages and/or routes to appropriate personnel;
- Schedules patient appointments, carefully screening patients for new address, new patient visit and registration date; update information and inform patient of what must be presented at time of visit;
- Tracks patient follow ups and waiting list for services using workflows in electronic health records;
- Monitors Athena clinical inbox as assigned for tasks related to registration and scheduling;
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information at all times, following privacy protocols in accordance with Clinic policies and HIPAA Guidelines;
- Utilizes computer system to access medical record information and chart number to accurately communicate patient needs with other departments;
- Takes actions to appropriately and successfully address patient issues; listens to patient without interruption or getting defensive;
- Demonstrates respect for diverse cultures of all patients, families and co-workers;
- Monitors patient registration and assists Patient Administration Lead to maintain updated patient records; update patient records as needed; regularly review and understand clinic registration guidelines;
- Attends scheduled meetings; and
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Typing?, * Patience, understanding, and compassion in direct interactions with clients;
* Must have to ability to maintain confidentiality at all times; * Must be self-motivated with good organizational skills; * Office or administrative experience; * Must have basic clerical skills, typing, filing, ability to communicate with the public, doctors, nurses and patients; * Ability to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations; * Must be able to handle confidential situations with tact; * Ability to work with computers, electronic devices, telephones, etc. * Ability to multi task; * Experience working in a team environment; * Experience working in a clinic setting.

401K: Bradley Free Clinic will match employees’ contributions 100% up to 3% of the employee’s annual salary and 50% on the next 2% of the employee’s annual salary. Employees are eligible to participate once they attain age 21 and have 1 year service with the company. You will enter the plan on the first day of the month on or after you meet the eligibility requirements. Our 401(k) plan has a three-year cliff vesting schedule. This means you are always 100% vested in contributions you choose to defer, however, you must remain employed for three (3) years to be 100% vested in any employer matching contributions; there is no step vesting schedule.
