Job description

This is a hands-on, customer-facing position. You’ll be the person at the client site installing and configuring network hardware, deploying and troubleshooting computers and servers, and running down problems across networks, systems, and endpoints. You’ll work closely with our help desk and engineering team, but when you’re onsite, you’re the one our clients are relying on.

Networking is the heart of this role. We need someone who can walk into an unfamiliar environment, understand how it’s wired together, and make confident decisions. This is a firm requirement, not a preference. If you can’t demonstrate real networking depth, this isn’t the right fit, no matter how strong you are in other areas. If you’ve configured managed switches, stood up business wireless, and traced a VLAN problem to its source, keep reading.

Duties

  • Handle onsite service calls across our service area, from quick fixes to multi-day deployments
  • Install, configure, and deploy network hardware including managed switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless access points
  • Install, terminate, and test structured network cabling
  • Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, trunking, port assignments, DHCP, DNS, and routing
  • Design and deploy business wireless networks for solid coverage and performance
  • Install, configure, and deploy workstations and servers
  • Install, configure, and deploy VoIP telephones
  • Troubleshoot computers, servers, VoIP telephones, and networks onsite and resolve issues efficiently
  • Support and deploy endpoints across both Windows and Apple environments
  • Install and support surveillance and camera systems where projects call for it
  • Document every site, configuration, and change accurately in our documentation and ticketing platforms
  • Coordinate with our remote team so nothing falls through the cracks between onsite and help desk work
  • Represent our company professionally at every client site

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in macOS?, Do you have a Associate’s degree?, * Demonstrated, hands-on networking experience. You can explain and configure VLANs, subnetting, switching, routing basics, DNS, DHCP, and firewall rules without needing to look it up

  • Real experience configuring managed switches
  • Firewall configuration and troubleshooting experience
  • Structured cabling knowledge and the ability to terminate and test cleanly
  • Business-class wireless deployment experience, including AP placement and channel planning
  • Solid Windows desktop and Windows Server troubleshooting and deployment skills
  • Confident hardware troubleshooting across computers, servers, and peripherals
  • Clear, professional communication. You can explain a technical issue to a business owner in plain language
  • Comfort working independently and managing your own time across multiple sites in a day
  • Ability to accurately track time and enter detailed notes in our PSA system and to document your work clearly
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift and move equipment, work on ladders, and handle the physical side of field work

What Will Set You Apart

  • Experience working inside an MSP and familiarity with PSA and RMM platforms (we use ConnectWise Manage and NinjaRMM, with IT Glue for documentation)
  • Familiarity with security tooling such as EDR, Zero-Trust, DNS filtering, etc.
  • Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration experience
  • Apple device management and macOS support experience
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, etc., * Associate (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Network support: 3 years (Required)

Language:

  • English (Required)
