Job description
As an associate manager of data analysis in our Emerging Markets group, you’ll lead analytic support for new and evolving business initiatives across Progressive Claims. You’ll manage and develop a group of analysts by providing analytical guidance, prioritization support, and coaching on technical and business-related work. You’ll foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment while supporting analysts in developing their analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. You’ll develop a strong understanding of emerging business spaces, help identify initial insights and opportunities, support immediate high-priority analytic needs, and provide recommendations that shape long-term reporting and analytic strategies. You’ll guide analytical direction where processes, data structures, and evolving business needs intersect. You’ll also manage diverse and impactful work with opportunities to collaborate directly with the business and process leaders.
Requirements
- A minimum of eight years of analytical work experience.
- {OR} Bachelor’s degree or higher and a minimum of five years analytical work experience.
Preferred skills
- Experience leading or mentoring analysts, and/or matrix managing complex initiatives requiring alignment across teams.
- Strong analytical foundation with the ability to connect data to operational realities.
- Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical partners, adjusting the level of detail to audience needs.
- A collaborative mindset and proven ability to work across teams and disciplines, with curiosity, ownership, and a desire to grow as a people leader and strategic partner.
- Proficiency with SQL, R, SAS, Python, Power BI, or Tableau.
