Job description

  • Design, implement, and optimize firewall and IPS rule structures to ensure security standards are maintained
  • Monitor, maintain, and improve the health and performance of firewalls and intrusion prevention systems (IPS)
  • Plan and coordinate enterprise-wide network security initiatives and solutions
  • Develop and maintain documentation, schematics, and procedures related to network security infrastructure
  • Research, evaluate, test, and implement new security technologies and tools
  • Support network engineering teams with expert-level security guidance
  • Lead migrations from Cisco ASA to Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) environments

Requirements

  • 10+ years of overall IT experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (strongly preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), including upgrades, deployment, and licensing
  • Proven experience with Cisco Firepower and ASA to FTD migrations
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco 802.1X deployment and authentication frameworks
  • Experience designing and deploying DMVPN (CNSSP-15 compliant) and Juniper ADVPN
  • Solid understanding of routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP
  • Active Top Secret security clearance (required)

Preferred Certifications:

  • CCNP Security
  • CCNP Enterprise (Routing & Switching)
  • CCDP
