Job description

We are seeking a reliable, proactive IT Technician to support schools and academies across the North East on a Term Time Only basis.

This is a varied, hands-on role providing on-site IT support within educational environments, ensuring that staff and students have access to reliable, well-maintained technology.

You will work across multiple school and academy sites, supporting day-to-day IT operations and responding to technical issues in a professional, safeguarding-aware manner.

An ideal applicant would express a general interest in IT overall - combined with good problem solving skills., · Provide first- and second-line IT support to teaching and support staff.

· Support classroom technology including desktops, laptops, tablets, interactive displays, and printers.

· Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software.

· Troubleshoot network, login, and connectivity issues.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, · Previous experience in an IT support role.

· Full, clean UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites.

· Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner.

· Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple locations.

· A clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities (training will be provided).

· Enhanced DBS check (required prior to employment)., · Knowledge and experience of MS Windows, AD, DNS, Group Policy, DHCP and other Windows networking skills would be beneficial.

· Support Microsoft 365/Google Workspace, multiple operating systems, and educational IT systems.

· A good working knowledge of MS Office and Windows.

· Experience in maintaining PCs, Printers and installing software.

· Experience using Apple Devices and Software.

· A basic understanding of security technologies, i.e. Anti-Virus, Firewalls and internet security

· Liaise with school staff to resolve issues efficiently and minimise disruption to learning

· Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions

· Travel between multiple school and academy sites as required
